Комментарий

Le bronze BN 8517 (n° 430 du Traité de S. Scheers) a le même type de droit avec un revers comparable bien qu'avec un cheval tourné à droite. Le dessin qui en est fait dans le LA TOUR est largement interprété, surtout pour la tête du revers, en raison de la médiocre qualité du bronze conservé à la BN. Dardel y a interprété un bucrane alors qu'il s'agit d'une tête humaine.
The bronze BN 8517 (no. 430 of the Treatise of S. Scheers) has the same type of obverse with a comparable reverse, although with a horse facing right. The drawing made of it in the LA TOUR is widely interpreted, especially for the head on the reverse, due to the poor quality of the bronze preserved at the BN. Dardel interpreted it as a bucranium, whereas it is actually a human head.
