Историческая справка

ARAB-SASANIAN - SISTAN - UBAYD ALLAH IBN ZIYAD

(674-685/ AH 55-64)

Hossein, the second son of Ali who had become leader of the Shiites, proclaimed himself Caliph in place of the Caliph of Baghdad. He came up against Abaydallh ibn Ziyad, a governor who pursued a vigorous policy for the benefit of successive Umayyad caliphs: on October 10, 680, near Kerbela (in Iraq), Hossein and his family were massacred. Shiism has its martyrs, always commemorated each year by the ceremonies of Achoura. In 685, Abaydallh ibn Ziyad was killed in another battle against the Shiites, who cut off his head. Ubaydallah had subjected Hossein to the same fate… “Kerbala was avenged. ».
