Très bel exemplaire sur un flan large avec les légendes complètes. Malheureusement, le flan est tordu suite à un coup porté au droit, vers 6 heures

La légende BELOACVS pourrait inciter à rapprocher ce triens de Beauvais. Au premier siècle, la ville est connue sous le nom de Caesaromagus et dès le IVe est mentionné le Bellovacis castrum. Si les monnaies carolingiennes ont la légende BELCEVACVS CIVI, aucune monnaie mérovingienne ne semble avoir ce genre de légende.
La légende du revers ne nous renseigne guère plus avec une similitude troublante avec le triens B. 4188 attribué en fonction de son avers à Spire (Allemagne) : les cinq lettres de la légende sont les mêmes, en effet miroir, avec cette même composition autour d’une croix potencée posée sur un globe lui-même sur une ligne d’exergue... A. de Barthélemy y restitue le Monétaire BADV, seulement mentionné pour cet atelier de Spire..
The legend BELOACVS could lead us to compare this triens with Beauvais. In the first century, the city was known as Caesaromagus and the Bellovacis castrum was mentioned as early as the 4th century. While Carolingian coins have the legend BELCEVACVS CIVI, no Merovingian coin seems to have this type of legend. The legend on the reverse tells us little more, with a disturbing similarity to the triens B. 4188 attributed to Speyer (Germany) based on its obverse: the five letters of the legend are the same, in fact a mirror image, with the same composition around a cross potent placed on a globe itself on an exergue line... A. de Barthélemy restores the Monétaire BADV, only mentioned for this Speyer mint.
