Le 1er janvier 1949 la RATP, qui remplace officiellement l'APTP, récupère la gestion de la ligne de Sceaux qui allait devenir en 1977 la branche RATP de la ligne B du RER. Le 14 décembre 1969, la ligne Nation – Boissy-Saint-Léger, première ligne du «métro régional» et future ligne A du tout nouveau Réseau express régional d'Île-de-France, intégralement modernisée et électrifiée, est mise en service par la RATP. Le tronçon La Défense – Étoile, entièrement nouveau, est ouvert le 21 février 1970. Deux autres ouvertures lui succèdent : Étoile – Auber le 23 novembre 1971 et La Défense – Saint-Germain-en-Laye le 1er octobre 1977.
On January 1, 1949, the RATP, which officially replaced the APTP, took over management of the Sceaux line, which would become the RATP branch of RER line B in 1977. On December 14, 1969, the Nation – Boissy-Saint-Léger line, the first line of the “regional metro” and the future line A of the brand new Île-de-France Regional Express Network, fully modernized and electrified, was put into service by the RATP. The completely new La Défense – Étoile section opened on February 21, 1970. Two other openings followed: Étoile – Auber on November 23, 1971 and La Défense – Saint-Germain-en-Laye on October 1, 1977.
