Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle sur un petit flan mince, parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Portrait tout à fait exceptionnel et fantastique. Revers magnifique. Très jolie patine avec des reflets mordorés. Conserve l’intégralité de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Аверс: описание: Buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé de Constantin II César à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant, tenant un globe de la main gauche et levant la main droite (B*6).

Аверс: перевод: “Domino Nostro Constantino Iunori Nobilissimi Cæsari”, (À notre seigneur Constantin le jeune, très noble césar).

Реверс: легенда: VICTORIAE LAET PRINC PERP/ -|-// P-L.

Реверс: Описание: Deux victoires debout face à face tenant un bouclier posé sur un cippe sur lequel on lit : VOT/PR ; à l'exergue, deux captifs assis dos à dos.

Реверс: перевод: “Victoriæ Lætæ Principium Perpetuæ/ Vota Populi Romani”, (À la victoire heureuse et durable du Prince/ Vœux du Peuple Romain).

Комментарий

Poids très léger. Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3. Ptéryges invisibles sous le paludamentum. La légende du droit est au datif (dédicace). Au droit, le portrait semble orné d’une égide sur le buste. Le globe que tient Constantin II est orné d’un globe. La main levée du césar rappelle l’adventus (arrivée) ou adlocutio (harangue). Au revers, les deux captifs dos à dos font partie intégrante de la marque d’atelier. C’est le troisième exemplaire signalé. Nous n’avons pas relevé d’identité de coin pertinente pour ce type pourtant si rare. Prendra le numéro 22c dans le Supplément III du Bastien.
Very light weight. With all its surface silvering. Type 3 ribbons. Pteryges invisible under the paludamentum. The legend on the obverse is in the dative (dedication). On the obverse, the portrait appears to be adorned with an aegis on the bust. The globe held by Constantine II is adorned with a globe. The Caesar's raised hand recalls the adventus (arrival) or adlocutio (harangue). On the reverse, the two captives back to back are an integral part of the mint mark. This is the third example reported. We have not noted any relevant die identity for this type, which is so rare. Will take the number 22c in Supplement III of Bastien
