Exemplaire sur un flan parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Portraits de toute beauté où tous les détails sont visibles. Joli revers de haut relief, particulièrement bien venu à la frappe. Belle patine marron foncé

PHOENICIA - ARADOS

(3rd - 1st century BC)

Arados had entered the Seleucid orbit after the battle of Ipsos in 301 BC. The city emancipated itself from this tutelage in 259 BC. Arados then dates its coins from this new era. Under the reign of Alexandre I Bala, it destroyed Marathus, its neighbor and old enemy. From this date, the city issued a very important civic coinage (137-45 AC.) which was to last until the Caesarean period..
