ECU est l’acronyme d’European Currency Unit. Cette devise internationale a été créée en 1979 dans le cadre du Système monétaire européen (SME) dans le but de donner aux pays membres de la CEE une zone de stabilité monétaire en limitant les fluctuations des taux de change entre les pays membres. Ce n'était pas une vraie monnaie mais un panier de valeurs. La véritable monnaie sera l’Euro..

From the Arabic "Djebel Tarik" ("the mountain of Tariq" named after Tariq ibn Ziyad), Gibraltar is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom located in the south of Spain. It connects the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Ocean. The English have maintained a significant military presence there in the past. Although it is now reduced, there are still many testimonies. Gibraltar is claimed by Spain although the majority of the population is against it. The question of Gibraltar is a major cause of dissension in Anglo-Spanish relations. Gibraltar is part of the European Union even if certain European regulations do not apply there, in particular in customs matters.
