LORRAINE - DUCHY OF LORRAINE - BERTHE DE SOUABE
(1176-1195)
Bertha of Swabia, wife of Mathieu I of Lorraine (1138-1176), is also the sister of Frederick I Barbarossa. She is the mother of Simon II (1176-1205) and Ferri I (1205-1207). She had married Mathieu in 1137. She does not seem to have been regent for her eldest son on the death of her husband. She died in 1195.
