Ce denier a été initialement classé à Lyon, le droit ayant été interprété comme un LVG. Un exemplaire plus nets dont la photographie nous a été expédiée ne laisse pas de place au doute.

LYON (LUGDUNUM)

(7th-8th centuries)

The Merovingian coinage of Lyon is broken down into Roman imitations, triens of Frankish kings, coins and a large series of triens "struck in Forez and Vivarais during the Saracen occupation" (divided into three groups). With regard to money, a denarius is in the name of Rognoaldus otherwise, all denarii are episcopal. These denarii are characterized by the legend LV(G) and a cross confined to the letters EPS.
