Pour ce type, M. Crawford a relevé une estimation de 85 coins de droit et de 74 coins de revers pour trois variétés. Ce denier est en fait beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent paraître les ouvrages généraux.

PETILLIA

(43 BC)

The Petillia gens is a family of plebeian origin. Petillius Capitolinus, one of its members, who is not to be identified with the monetary triumvir, is accused of stealing the golden crown from the statue of Capitoline Jupiter. He is judged. Being a friend of Octave, he is acquitted, as Horace reports (Sat. I, 4. 24).
