Lucius Scribonius Libo is a follower of Pompey. His daughter marries Sextus Pompey, the second son of the great Pompey. Sent to Egypt in 56 BC to restore Ptolemy XII Auletes (the flute player) to the throne, he tries, in 49 BC, to temporize between Caesar and Pompey by trying to negotiate a truce .
