Patine claire et brillante. Traces légères d’usure sur les reliefs de l’avers et du revers. Une trace brune est présente sur la jambe droite du personnage représentant l’époux. Les inscriptions au revers sont assez peu lisibles. Les revers et la tranche comportent de légères rayures. Médaille nettoyée

Аверс: описание: Couple en habits Renaissance se tenant par la main droite et échangeant leurs voeux devant un évêque en mitre. Les trois personnages sont sous un dais gothique, accostés de deux anges jouant de la harpe (à droite) et jetant des fleurs (à gauche). Derrière les époux sont placés deux écussons sur lesquels sont représentés: un chien (à droite) et un cygne (à gauche) Signé : DOMARD SC. et BORREL F.

LOVE AND MARRIAGE
It was customary in the past to give a treizain during the wedding mass. This treizain was blessed and signified entry into a community of property for the married couple. The treizain, which later became a medal or wedding token, was so called in honor of Jesus Christ and the twelve apostles. This practice continued until the first half of the 20th century. The reference work on the subject is the work of Jules Florange, Love and marriage in numismatics, Moulins, 1936 now replaced by that of Henri Térisse, La Numismatique du Mariage, Argenton-sur-Creuse 2008.
