Комментарий

Exemplaire de poids relativement lourd et particulièrement bien centré. La légende du droit est à peine lisible, en bord de flan et de frappe faible. Le revers est quant à lui de qualité exceptionnelle.

ANTIPOLIS - ANTIBES

(1st century BC)

Founded by the Phocaeans, a Massaliote colony, Antibes would have received the "jus latinum" after the capture of its metropolis in 49 BC, for having sided with Caesar against Pompey. The coinage is late and was struck when Lépide was governor of Narbonnaise.
