Argos according to mythology had been one of the main cities of the kingdom of Agamemnon with Mycenae. Argos, very soon found itself the capital of Dorian amphictyonia. Phidion of Argos is described as one of the creators of Aegina coinage. The city of Argos dedicated a special cult to the solar Apollo, of which the wolf is one of the symbols and which the Argives chose for their coins, the manufacture of which began at the beginning of the 5th century BC.. -VS.
