Au droit on peut lire les lettres AV sur les exemplaires de flan large (cf. MONNAIES VIII, n° 972). Exemplaire avec un annelet au lieu de la rouelle au revers, entre les jambes du cheval.

AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)

(1st century BC)

The Aulerci were one of the most powerful people in Gaul. They were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Eburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries: BG. (II., 34); (III.,17 and 29); (VII. 4 and 75); (VIII., 7).
