Denier sur un flan court et ovale, un peu irrégulier, avec un avers complet mais un revers un peu décentré. Agréable patine grise

De rares monnaies lamellaires sont apparues sur le marché, d’une diversité surprenante, chacune étant très rare...
Cet exemplaire est très stylisé et correspond exactement au bga_309000. La tête est très particulière, tandis que le revers n’est pas sans rappeler certaines monnaies attribuées aux Aulerques Cénomans.
Ce monnayage serait originaire de Basse Normandie, peut-être frappé par un voisin des Aulerques Eburovices (?).

GALLIA - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Aulerci were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Éburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. According to the latter, they would have massacred their Senate favorable to the Romans in 56 BC and would have joined the Unelles and the revolted Lexoviens. In 52 BC, they provided a contingent of three thousand men to the relief army. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
