Denier fourré et voilé, mais bien frappé et centré des deux côtés, avec les types bien identifiables. Patine grise, avec l'âme en bronze visible par endroits, surtout au revers

Ce denier appartient au groupe de monnaies immobilisées et dégénérées des triens de Dorestad au nom du monétaire MADELINVS. La tête à droite des triens se retrouve à gauche sur les deniers.

AUSTRASIA - DORESTAS - DEUERSTEDT (HOLLAND)
(7th century)
Dorestad was located on one of the arms of the mouth of the Rhine, on the remains of an ancient Roman fort, in present-day Netherlands, near the town of Wijk bij Duurstede. Between 600 and 850, the port was often the subject of war between the Frisians and the Franks.
