Ferdinand (1503-1564) is the son of Philippe le Beau and Jeanne la Folle, the brother of Charles-Quint. On the death of his grandfather Maximilian of Austria in 1519, he became Archduke of Austria. His brother, who became emperor in 1519, shared his German possessions with him in 1521. He is Count of Tyrol.
