Alfred Van der Kelen fonda l’école de peinture décorative en 1892 après une longue expérience acquise à Paris. En 1902, il établit l’école dans l’atelier actuel, ancienne maison du ferronnier Prosper Schryvers.

Alfred Van der Kelen founded the School of Decorative Painting in 1892 after extensive experience gained in Paris. In 1902, he established the school in the current workshop, the former home of ironworker Prosper Schryvers. Medal awarded to G. Guignet
