Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale et irrégulier, bien centré des deux côtés, un peu court. Très beau portrait d’Apollon juvénile. Joli revers, bien venu à la frappe. Patine avec des reflets mordorés

BITHYNIA - KIOS

(4th century BC)

Kios was a rich commercial city at the entrance to the Propontis, founded according to legend by the Argonauts. Coinage would not begin before the second half of the 4th century BC. It was part of the Kingdom of Thrace under Lysimachus. The city was destroyed by Philip V of Macedon in 202 BC..
