Intéressante petite contremarque ovale au droit dans le champ à droite avec une tête d’empereur, Septime Sévère (193-211). Les auteurs indiquent que cette contremarque aurait été apposée entre 196 et 210 et se rencontre rarement sur les monnaies de Sauromates Ier (6 ex.) .
Light weight. On the obverse, the scepter is sometimes described as surmounted by a head and a spear is placed behind the shield. This type is sometimes presented as a sestertius. Interesting small oval countermark on the obverse in the right field with an emperor's head, Septimius Severus (193-211). The authors indicate that this countermark would have been affixed between 196 and 210 and is rarely found on the coins of Sauromates I (6 ex.)
