Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale, bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait juvénile de Caracalla. Très joli revers de style fin. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Caesar

Caracalla was born on April 4, 188 in Lyon. He is the eldest son of Septimius Severus and Julia Domna. On May 27, 196, he was created Caesar by his father, who had broken with Clodius Albinus. After the defeat of Albin near Lyon, on February 19, 197, he received the titles of prince of youth and pontiff. Caracalla was named Augustus in April 198 before the great Parthian victory.
