Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis complets. Très beau portrait de haut relief. Joli revers, bien venu à la frappe. Très belle patine gris métallique avec des reflets dorés. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Augustus

Carin was elevated to august in March 283. After the death of Carus, he shared power with his brother Numerian. After the latter's death, he had to fight against the usurpation of Julian of Pannonia, whom he eliminated at Verona. He then had to turn against Diocletian who had been elected after the death of Numerian in the East. Diocletian was defeated at Margus in June or July 285, but Carinus was assassinated, leaving Diocletian sole ruler of the Roman Empire.
