Exemplaire sur un flan très large, idéalement centré des deux cotés. Joli portrait. Beau revers malgré une faiblesse de frappe. Patine grise avec des reflets métalliques. Conserve une partie de son brillant de frappe et son coupant d’origine

Carus is proclaimed in Rhaetia at the end of August 282. Probus is assassinated in Sirmium. Carus entrusts the rank of Caesar to his eldest son Carin at the end of October, then to his other son, Numérien, in December. Carus named his august sons in March 283. In the spring of 283, he began a brilliant campaign against the Sassanids, took Ctesiphon, their capital, but was struck down by lightning in July 283. Numerian, who accompanied him, was charged with bringing back the troops.
