CATHERINE-MARIE OF LORRAINE

(1552-1596)

Catherine-Marie de Lorraine is the daughter of François I de Guise and Anne d'Este, herself the daughter of Hercule II d'Este and Renée de France, so she is the great-granddaughter of Louis XII and Anne of Brittany. She is the older sister of Charles de Lorraine, Duke of Mayenne who submitted to Henri IV in 1596. She married in 1570 Louis de Bourbon (1513-1582), Duke of Montpensier and Dauphin of Auvergne, of whom these are the second wedding.
