Together with the Boii of Pannonia and the Taurisci they certainly formed a powerful kingdom, northeast of Italy and were one of the main Celtic formations on the outskirts of the Alps. This entity experienced its greatest expansion in the 1st century BC and extended to the Danube on the eastern part of the Alps. The conquest undertaken by Augustus was not completed until Tiberius and Drusus.
