Ce denier est frappé sur un flan irrégulier et assez large. Quelques faiblesses de frappe. Exemplaire recouvert d’une légère patine grise. Le revers est plus net que le droit

CHÂTEAUDUN - VISCOUNTCY OF CHÂTEAUDUN - EUDES II
(996-1037)
Geoffroy II was viscount of Châteaudun (1004-1039), but the viscount is in fact dominated by the counts of the house of Blois and its most illustrious representative, Eudes II, the grandson of Thibaut le Tricheur who was count of Blois, of Chartres, of Champagne and happened to be at the beginning of the 11th century the most powerful lord north of the Loire; vassal more powerful than his suzerain, the king of France, Robert II the Pious.
