Exemplaire sur un petit flan, parfaitement centré. Très beau portrait inhabituel de Constantin II, de style fin et de haut relief. Joli revers avec une petite faiblesse de frappe sur le globe. Belle patine marron foncé

Casque clouté. Cuirasse lisse avec l’égide posée. Épaulière cloutée. Ptéryges larges. Au revers globe de type RMBT., p. 97, n° 15.

Caesar

Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
