Premier président au parlement de Paris (1653-1657), il est fils de Nicolas de Bellièvre (1583-1650) qui fut Maître des requêtes en 1602, Conseiller au Parlement de Paris en 1612, Procureur général en 1614 et Président à mortier du Parlement de Paris 1642, année à laquelle il se démet de ses fonctions au profit de son fils qui devint alors Conseiller d'État.
C'est le petit-fils de Pomponne de Bellièvre (1529 Lyon - 5 septembre 1607), homme d'État français et chancelier de France du XVIe siècle. La ville d’origine de la famille est Lyon

First President of the Parliament of Paris (1653-1657), he was the son of Nicolas de Bellièvre (1583-1650) who was Master of Requests in 1602, Councilor of the Parliament of Paris in 1612, Attorney General in 1614 and President of the Parliament of Paris in 1642, the year in which he resigned his functions in favor of his son who then became Councilor of State. He is the grandson of Pomponne de Bellièvre (1529 Lyon - September 5, 1607), French statesman and Chancellor of France of the 16th century.
