Ce blanc a conservé une bonne partie de son brillant et ses reliefs sont bien nets. Exemplaire présentant d’infimes traces de circulation et frappé sur un flan assez large et irrégulier. La croix du revers apparaît en négatif au droit

DAUPHINÉ - DAUPHINS OF VIENNOIS - LOUIS II
(1440-1456)
Louis (1423-1483) is the eldest son of Charles VII and Marie d'Anjou. Charles had kept the Dauphiné as King until 1440 when Louis received it. To thank his father, the latter plots against him by joining the revolt of the princes which will end in their submissions with the signing of the act of Cusset. Louis married in 1436 Marguerite of Scotland who died in 1445 without having given him a child. Louis was sent into exile in Dauphiné in 1447. Remarried with Charlotte of Savoy in 1451, Louis had to flee from Dauphiné in 1456 to take refuge with Philippe le Bon, Duke of Burgundy. In August 1457, Dauphiné was attached to the royal domain. Louis succeeded his father in 1461.
