Les nommés Kanter et Helsdingen avaient ameuté les habitants
d'Utrecht pour les engager à renverser les autorités de la ville, afin de prendre leur place ; ayant réussi dans leur projet, la ville fut bloquée par ordre des ambassadeurs de France, l'Angleterre, des Étals généraux et du prince Maurice. Les habitants se soumirent ; les fauteurs des troubles furent chassés et remplacés par les anciens magistrats.
The men named Kanter and Helsdingen had roused the inhabitants of Utrecht to urge them to overthrow the city authorities, in order to take their place; having succeeded in their project, the city was blockaded by order of the ambassadors of France, England, the States General and Prince Maurice. The inhabitants submitted; the troublemakers were driven out and replaced by the former magistrates.
