Ce potin était presque inconnu il y a à peine plus de dix ans. Les premiers exemplaires ont réalisé des prix records. Désormais il reste rare, surtout en très bel état, mais son attribution aux Durocasses est confirmée. L’appellation “aux volutes cruciformes” (initiée dans MONNAIES II) ou “au chignon” désigne désormais sans ambiguïté cette monnaie !
Cet exemplaire est assez exceptionnel de par son état complet et homogène entre le droit et le revers !.
This potin was almost unknown just over ten years ago. The first examples achieved record prices. From now on it remains rare, especially in very good condition, but its attribution to the Durocasses is confirmed. The name “with cruciform volutes” (initiated in COINS II) or “with a bun” now unambiguously designates this coin! This example is quite exceptional due to its complete and homogeneous condition between the right and the reverse!
