Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais, bien centré des deux côtés. Belle tête de Ptolémée. Revers bien venu à la frappe, de haut relief et de style fin. Belle patine de médaillier avec des reflets modorés. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

EGYPT - LAGID OR PTOLEMAIC KINGDOM - PTOLEMY X ALEXANDER I AND CLEOPATRA III

(106-88 BC)

Ptolemy X is the younger son of Ptolemy VIII Euergetes (145-116 BC) and Cleopatra III. He was first governor of Cyprus in 113 BC. In 106 BC, he overthrew his brother Ptolemy IX Soter (116-106 and 88-80 BC) who took his place in Cyprus. He reigned with his mother until her death. Finally after a reign of eighteen years, he was driven out by the Alexandrians and murdered at sea. His brother then resumed possession of his throne for the last eight years of his life..
