For the gold half-escudo which corresponds to 8 silver reales, i.e. a gold/silver ratio of 1:15.8, very close to France, there are five different types for the Madrid mint: the first struck in 1746 which is the proclamation coin; the second type was made from 1746 to 1748; the third type from 1748 to 1751; the fourth type from 1751 to 1756 and the last from 1756 to 1759
