GENEVOIS
Le Genevois corresponds to the southwestern part of the department of Haute-Savoie. First governed by the counts of Geneva, it then passed under the control of the bishops of Annecy. In 1401, the county passed to the House of Savoy and was erected into a duchy in 1564.
