Exemplaire sur un petit flan, bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait d’Hélène, bien venu à la frappe. Joli revers de style fin. Très belle patine vert olive profond lissée. Conserve une partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Wife of Constantius I, mother of Constantine I - Augusta

Helena, mother of Constantine and first wife of Constantius Chlorus, received the title of augusta in 324. After the death of Fausta and Crispus, she went to the Holy Land. In Jerusalem, she discovered remains of the true cross and founded many institutions. She died in 328, was sanctified and entered in the calendar.
