François Armand d’Usson, marquis de Bonnac (1716-1778) mène une carrière militaire et diplomatique relativement classique. Lieutenant du Roi au gouvernement du pays de Foix en 1738, colonel du régiment de Bonnac en 1741 et brigadier en 1747, il devient maréchal de camp en 1749 et lieutenant général au gouvernement de Foix l’année suivante. Il sera ultérieurement lieutenant général en 1762 et gouverneur de Brouage en 1765. Sa carrière diplomatique se fait sous la protection de la marquise de Pompadour. Il est en particulier ambassadeur du Roi à La Haye entre 1751 et 1756.
Ce jeton commémore l’entrée en charge du marquis de Bonnac comme ambassadeur du Roi auprès de la Hollande, le 23 novembre 1751.
François Armand d'Usson, Marquis de Bonnac (1716-1778) led a relatively traditional military and diplomatic career. Lieutenant of the King in the government of the Foix region in 1738, colonel of the Bonnac regiment in 1741 and brigadier in 1747, he became field marshal in 1749 and lieutenant general in the government of Foix the following year. He would later become lieutenant general in 1762 and governor of Brouage in 1765. His diplomatic career was carried out under the protection of the Marquise de Pompadour. He was notably the King's ambassador to The Hague between 1751 and 1756. This token commemorates the Marquis de Bonnac's entry into office as the King's ambassador to Holland on November 23, 1751.
