CHUPPIN De GERMIGNY ; famille originaire da Champagne. Jean Chuppin, né à Paris vers l'an 1572, fut échevin de cette capitale en 1639. Il existe une médaille de 1640, sur laquelle on voit d'un côté les armoiries de Chuppin, avec l'exergue : Jn. Chuppin., échevin- receveur-général des pauvres à Paris ; de l'autre , on voit les armes de la ville , avec l'exergue: Urbis et fori pauperum tuela. Le portrait de Jean Chuppin, était à l'Hôtel- de-ville.

Jean Chuppin, notaire au châtelet de Paris, fut élu échevin de cette ville en 1684, et Nicolas Chuppin en 1686.
Le fils de Jean Chuppin eut dix-neuf enfants. L'un de ses enfants, nommé Pierre Chuppin, est l'auteur des Chuppin de Germigny, seule branche existante.
Pierre-Nicolas Chuppin, vicomte de Germigny, fils de Pierre, servit dans les mousquetaires de la garde du Roi, et s'allia, en 1731, avec demoiselle de Neuvilly. Il mourut en 1769, laissant deux filles et un fils.
Jean-Nicolas Chuppin, écuyer, conseiller du Roi en son châtelet de Paris, administrateur du collège de Louis-le-Grand, épousa Jeanne Lebeau, fille du célèbre académicien, auteur de l'histoire du Bas-Empire. De ce mariage sont issus :
- Athanase, qui suit ;
- Auguste - Charles - Henri,
- Nicolas Chuppin.
Tous deux surnuméraires des gardes du corps du Roi
Athanase Chuppin De Germigny, chevalier, conseiller en la cour royale d'Amiens, ancien garde - du - corps du Roi, lieutenant-colonel de cavalerie, est chevalier de l'ordre royal et militaire de Saint Louis et de l'ordre royal de la Légion - d'Honneur.
Une autre branche de cette famille a donné trois trésoriers-généraux du marc d'or de l'ordre du Saint - Esprit, un capitaine de carabiniers, puis gentilhomme ordinaire de la chambre du Roi.
