Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale irrégulier, bien centré des deux côtés. Très joli droit, bien venu à la frappe. Patine gris foncé de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Poids lourd. Le poids de cet exemplaire fait plutôt penser à une hemidrachme. C’est la première fois que nous proposons ce type à la vente qui semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

IONIA - KLAZOMENAI
(6th - 5th century BC)
Clazomene, located in the southern peninsula of the Gulf of Smyrna, was placed under the protection of Apollo, protector of the herds. The swan on the reverse seems to have been a play on words with the name of the city. At the mouth of the Hermos delta, Clazomene was a breeding region. Anaxagoras was from Clazomene.
