Историческая справка

LOUIS XVIII

(6/04/1814-16/09/1824)

First Restoration - Dressed bust

The Senate proclaimed the forfeiture of the Emperor on April 2, 1814. Napoleon abdicated on April 6 and moved to Elba on May 4. On May 2, before entering Paris, Louis XVIII made the declaration of Saint-Ouen by which he promised a constitutional monarchy. At the first Treaty of Paris, on May 30, 1814, France was brought back to its 1790 borders.. The King grants the Charter on June 4. The Congress of Vienna opens on October 1, Talleyrand represents France there. Unfortunately, the beginning of the reign of Louis XVIII is awkward. The soldiers, in particular, miss Napoleon. The latter disembarked at Golfe-Juan on March 1, 1815 and went up to the North via the Alps.. Louis XVIII hastily leaves the Tuileries on March 20 before the arrival of Napoleon. During the Hundred Days, he took refuge in Ghent and did not return to Paris until July 8. On August 1, the Imperial Army is disbanded. The "untraceable" Chamber was elected in August 1815. Richelieu replaces the Talleyrand-Fouché duo on September 24. The second Treaty of Paris, on November 20, confirms the first of 1814 with an indemnity of 700 million francs. France remains occupied for three years.
