LYONNAIS - ARCHBISHOPRIC OF LYON - RENAUD II DE FOREZ

(1193-1226)

Renaud II de Forez was the 75th archbishop of Lyon. He is the son of Guigues II, Count of Lyon and Forez. Around 1182, he was abbot of Saint-Just. In 1193, he succeeded Jean I de Bellesmes as Archbishop of Lyon. He made his will on October 16, 1226 and died at the end of 1226. He was buried in the church of Saint-Irénée, with the counts of Forez. Robert of Auvergne succeeded him in 1227 at the head of the archdiocese of Lyon.
