Attribution selon Tricou, Jetons armoriés, Lyon, 1947, p. 124, n° 82 et pl.IV mais donné parfois à son fils, Louis-François-Anne de Retz (Florange ou Corre). La famille de Neufville de Villeroy d’Alincourt porte d’azur au chevron d’or accompagné de trois croisettes ancrées du même. Louis-Nicolas est le fils aîné de François et de Marguerite de Cossé-Brissac. Lieutenant général pour le roi dans les provinces de Lyonnais, Forez et Beaujolais, il devient duc de Villeroy et pair de France puis lieutenant général des Armées du roi, chevalier de Saint-Louis. Il est gouverneur de Lyon par survivance dès 1712 puis en titre de 1730 à sa mort en 1734. Marié à Marguerite Le Tellier, il meurt à Paris le 22 avril 1734.
Attribution according to Tricou, Jetons armoriés, Lyon, 1947, p. 124, n° 82 and pl.IV but sometimes given to his son, Louis-François-Anne de Retz (Florange or Corre). The Neufville de Villeroy d'Alincourt family wears azure with a golden chevron accompanied by three crosslets anchored with the same. Louis-Nicolas is the eldest son of François and Marguerite de Cossé-Brissac. Lieutenant general for the king in the provinces of Lyonnais, Forez and Beaujolais, he became Duke of Villeroy and peer of France then lieutenant general of the King's Armies, knight of Saint-Louis. He was governor of Lyon by survivorship from 1712 then in title from 1730 until his death in 1734. Married to Marguerite Le Tellier, he died in Paris on April 22, 1734
