Monnaie frappée sur un flan un peu court, mais avec les types de droit et de revers bien identifiables. Avers de frappe molle, mais beau revers intéressant avec des lettres bien nettes. Patine sombre et un peu poreuse

LYON (LUGDUNUM)

(7th-8th centuries)

The Merovingian coinage of Lyon is broken down into Roman imitations, triens of Frankish kings, coins and a large series of triens "struck in Forez and Vivarais during the Saracen occupation" (divided into three groups). With regard to money, a denarius is in the name of Rognoaldus otherwise, all denarii are episcopal. These denarii are characterized by the legend LV(G) and a cross confined to the letters EPS.
