Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Belle tête d’Héraklès. Joli revers. Patine superficielle avec des reflets dorés

Ce type se rencontre dans le trésor de Demanhour (IGCH. 1664), découvert en 1905, enfoui vers 318 avant J.-C. et qui aurait contenu plus de 8000 pièces d’argent dont neuf exemplaires avec l’arc pour l’atelier de Salamine de Chypre. Semble de même coin de revers que l’exemplaire bgr_287638.
This type is found in the Demanhour hoard (IGCH. 1664), discovered in 1905, buried around 318 BC and which is said to have contained more than 8,000 silver coins, including nine examples with the bow for the Salamis mint in Cyprus. Seems to have the same reverse die as the example bgr_287638

Coinage in the name and Alexander III the Great type
Alexander III the Great is the son of Philip II of Macedon and Olympias. He was born in 356 BC, when Philip's horses were triumphing at the Olympic Games. On the death of his father, who was assassinated in 336 BC, he became king of Macedonia at the age of twenty. He immediately crushes the Thebans and razes the city which had revolted. In 334 BC, he went to Asia and, after the victory of Granicus, set out to conquer the Achaemenid Empire, which would take him to Persepolis, then to the gates of India. Back in Babylon, in 325, he married Roxane who gave him a son. Two years later, he died without having completed his work, aged thirty-three..
