MAXIMIANUS HERCULIUS
(+310)
Consecration of Constantine I
After a tumultuous life Maximien, is eliminated or commits suicide at the beginning of the year 310, after having tried to assassinate his son-in-law, Constantin Ier. It is moreover Fausta, daughter of Maximien, who reveals the plot. Constantin uses the image of his father-in-law, still very popular among the military, to restore his memory and bring him into the Constantinian family. Maximien is the grandfather of Constantin II, Constans and Constance II..
