Dimensions de l’étoile : 58 mm (largeur), avec les palmes : 84,5 mm. Poinçons tête de sanglier visible sur l’anneau de suspension du ruban et sur l’anneau de suspension de l’étoile.

L’ordre du Ouissam (ou Wissam) alaouite est un ordre honorifique marocain créé le 11 janvier 19131 (2 safer 1331 AH), alors sous le nom d'ordre du Ouissam alaouite chérifien, peu après l'instauration du protectorat français et sous le règne de Moulay Youssef. Comme l’ordre du Trône du Maroc, l’ordre du Ouissam alaouite est considéré comme l’équivalent de l’ordre national de la Légion d’honneur en France.
La distinction, ou décoration, du Ouissam alaouite est toujours décernée aujourd'hui aux ministres, aux diplomates, aux militaires, ainsi qu'aux personnalités étrangères ayant rendu des services éminents au Royaume. Les récipiendaires sont nommés ou promus par dahir (décret) du roi du Maroc, qui est le grand maître de l’ordre.
