Type 3 ribbons with rounded ends. Pteryges barely visible under the paludamentum. Trace of die breakage visible on the reverse in the legend. This type seems much rarer than general works suggest. In MONNAIES 34, no. 691, we offered a similar example for Philip II Augustus which sold for €287 on a maximum bid of €612 with eight bids on an estimate of €195/300. This is the first time we have offered this type for sale.
