bga_241324 - PICTONES / MID-WESTERN, Unspecified Bronze au cheval androcéphale, fibule devant le cheval

Ce type de bronze est souvent confondu avec le bronze au cheval retourné, frappé sur le même style de flan et circulant dans la même région (cf. bga_238979).
Mais ce type est différent avec une chevelure plus fournie au droit et surtout un revers d’un type tout différent !
Le revers est à rapprocher du statère d’électrum à la tête casquée bga_241597. Il est intéressant de noter la présence d’une fibule figurée devant le cheval (en bord de flan sur cet exemplaire) !.
This type of bronze is often confused with the bronze with the upturned horse, struck on the same style of flan and circulating in the same region (cf. bga_238979). But this type is different with fuller hair on the obverse and especially a reverse of a completely different type! The reverse is similar to the electrum stater with a helmeted head bga_241597. It is interesting to note the presence of a fibula depicted in front of the horse (on the edge of the flan on this example)!
