Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle pour ce type sur un flan large, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles, légèrement fendu à 4 heures au revers. Portrait de toute beauté. Revers de style fin bien venu à la frappe. Très belle patine avec des reflets dorés. Conserve l’intégralité de son brillant d’origine et de son coupant de frappe

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
