S. Scheers précise que “les trouvailles sont trop dispersées pour permettre une attribution. La présence de ce quinaire dans le trésor de Vernon fixe le début de la frappe avant 45 avant J.-C.”.
Ce type précis est classé dans les “apparentés” à la série ATEVLA-VLATOS - SENODON - CALEDV. Ce type de tête n’a rien à voir avec les traditionnels deniers SENODON CALEDV, classe III. La tête est nettement casquée sur cet exemplaire et aucune légende n’est présente au droit.
Les trois autres exemplaires que nous ayons proposé sont le denier fourré n° 1647 de MONNAIES 38, le n° 1186 de MONNAIES 43 et le bga_271835.
Cet exemplaire a un beau revers avec l’épigraphie [CA]LEDV. L’exemplaire DT. 645 avait toute la légende hors flan au revers.
S. Scheers states that “the finds are too scattered to allow an attribution. The presence of this quinary in the Vernon hoard sets the start of the minting before 45 BC.” This specific type is classified in the “related” series ATEVLA-VLATOS - SENODON - CALEDV. This type of head has nothing to do with the traditional SENODON CALEDV denarii, class III. The head is clearly helmeted on this example and no legend is present on the obverse. The three other examples that we have proposed are the denarius fourré n° 1647 from MONNAIES 38, n° 1186 from MONNAIES 43 and bga_271835. This example has a beautiful reverse with the epigraphy [CA]LEDV. The example DT. 645 had the entire legend off-flan on the reverse
